We have tried to indicate all of the best known (and a few little know) BVI beaches on the map below. The beaches are marked in yellow. Where there was no room to put the name of the beach, we have used a key with numbers to help you locate the particular beach. Keep in mind that there are three "Long Bay" beaches and three "White Bay" beaches. (Don't ask ... I don't know why.) I just wanted you to know so you will be careful to differentiate between islands.

Probably the most frequently asked question is; "Where are the best beaches in the BVI?" Well ... that is just about impossible to answer. It depends on what you are looking for. My brother in law doesn't enjoy swimming in the sea, so he is most interested in the quality of the beach itself, its proximity to a bar or restaurant and its location in relation to the afternoon sun. I like beaches which are uncrowded and offer great snorkeling. Some feel the ideal beach is one which is very shallow for quite a distance from shore before it drops off. Others don't like beaches with sea grass or coral. So rather than attempt to rank the beaches on a scale of 1 to 10, I will just say "there is no such thing as a bad beach" ... and leave the ranking of them to you! With that in mind ...
